Product description Fantasy author Martin Sharlow starts a new series here with book one. He shows us a land of magic, where casters summon stories from works of fiction then use these story constructs for work, or for battle.
Thousands of years ago, the great Sage Montok Waynew signed the Book Accords, in which it was declared that all books must edify and instruct for the good of all mankind. Created in the hope to end the tyranny that had come into existence in their time, it was widely received and ratified by all living Sages as a good thing in the wake of the last great Story wars. So it went, that those books that were not found desirable were burned or destroyed, to protect all future generations.
Gailen, Alena and Targ find this peace is about to end. In a world where Sages can summon stories to life to do their bidding, these three apprentices must find where they belong, when the laws of the past seem to no longer exist.
Storytellers Apprentice, is a 72,000 word count Young Adult Fantasy, which combines myth and legend with popular fantasy and a unique magic system. It is the first of a three part trilogy. That sets up future books and introduces the reader to the power of stories, and how they can be used for good and bad.
Review
Who doesn't love a good story? Sharlow's Story Tellers is an intriguing book of fiction and fantasy. Story Tellers is brought to life by the excellent prose, engaging characters, magical plot, and overall fine writing.
Perhaps one of the best fantasy novels I have viewed in quite some time, we hear the story of three heroes, magical creations through the use of stories, and self-discovery. A highly recommended, delightful read of its genre. -----The Book Shelf

I loved this story! The author does an exceptional job with descriptions of the characters and the world they live in. I love the idea of the stories coming to life to assist the tellers. It brings back memories of when I was a child when stories were read to me that were so vivid that I felt as though I was in the story. This story does the same thing for me.The characters are well defined and as they go through their adventures it is easy to picture what is going on. It has humor that works well making the reader laugh out loud. It is a very creative story. It was exceptionally hard for me to put down. I can honestly see this story one day in movie form!
You will not be disappointed in purchasing this story, I highly recommend it!!

Storytellers Storytellers Saga Book 1 eBook Martin C Sharlow Reviews
My first 99 cent download and it was a great surprise. Great twist on a genre that can use something different. I'm only about half-way through the book, but so far it is a real page turner (clicker?).
I am a storyteller, so of course I was intrigued by the premise of this book. It really is a great idea, enough so that I will probably continue with the series. That being said, the writing itself is awful weak. There was honestly something at least every chapter that was so poorly done that it would jolt me out of th story. I think the author has promise, he has great ideas, but he'd do himself a favor by working on his craft.
Your first chapter was one of the hottest openings I've read. Intense. This author knows how to write to his market, beginning with the character of Brighton. He's a typical year old in many ways - not into the wedding a bit, would rather get lost in his book (or today, his video game), but we quickly learn there's much more to this child. I enjoyed the fascinating turn - quite a surprise - that a first-born son was a bad omen. So, the boy had the cards stacked against him at birth. Then his drunken father died the same night. Not a good beginning for a kid, but his mother did seem to care for him. I'm into his psyche at that point, and find it no leap to believe how angry he is that she's remarrying, and this is his reason to boycott the wedding.
The Storyteller, Eleman, is a classic and wonderful character. I love that he doesn't consider his gift magical. It's just what he does, no different from Bright's mom who weaves beautiful cloth. Bright wants to be like him, but cannot be tested for a year. The insights into the "rules" of the storyteller is fascinating, especially that humans can not be harmed. Then we see a darker side to the young boy. Again, no leap in belief there, and hardly one could have a leap in judgment, either. He's just a little kid.
Bedlam breaks out - and this scene is rich with action and aparent victory. It's short-lived however...I literally gasped (and I never gasp at anything).
To this brilliant story of vivid colors, a magical setting, and endless intrigues. Fantasy storytelling at it's best.
I couldn't put it down from the beginning! This story almost immediately grabs the reader and sends them soaring into another world. I can see this becoming an instant classic, and a great film.
Abigail's Cries
Strange read. The story starts and you are thrown into chaos..... It doesn't make any sense till almost the end. I kept reading thinking it would get better, it started to then ended.
Story line was hard to follow at times, There were so many characters it was hard to remember after a while what significance different characters had, especially if they were only in the story sporadically, and weren't developed enough to make them stick in the memory. There was certainly plenty of action, and a good ebb and flow with it all. Definitely the whole book needs editing, or maybe the author needs to revisit some composition classes. At times, the misspelling and random, stray single letters was very distracting to the story line.
